We’re in our second room
A comforting doom
And all we can say is how we’ve been
Going for so long without a single thing
To say to anyone so hold your peace
I’d never have loved anyone
Or what I’d become
I promise to do what I promised to you
And I’ll do to you what I promised you
Just touch me now where you think it hurts
It’ll be ok in morning light
I was always right
When I told you what I promised
To your sleeping head next to mine
And you’d never have guessed my name
I can see who you are
From so very far
And I know you’ll teach me too
So when you slide down my arm don’t
Forget to clean up what you leave
It’s a terrible thing to see
What you’ve done to me
So it’s a good thing I can’t thanks
To your endearing sense of praise for
What I promised to your sleeping head
I think I’m getting a taste for you
What you put me through
So I’ll just leave you where you are
Lying next to me and the promise between
You and me that couldn’t eventuate
A comforting doom
And all we can say is how we’ve been
Going for so long without a single thing
To say to anyone so hold your peace
I’d never have loved anyone
Or what I’d become
I promise to do what I promised to you
And I’ll do to you what I promised you
Just touch me now where you think it hurts
It’ll be ok in morning light
I was always right
When I told you what I promised

And I know you’ll teach me too
So when you slide down my arm don’t
