On Matters Outside the Juristiction of the State...

All particulars aside, I begin this by stating plainly that this post will not be relevant to everyone. Yes I am fully aware that this goes radically against the blogging concept where we attempt to attract as many readers as possible but this is an exception. If you be redneck, reclusive, or otherwise uninterested in my home country of Australia, read no more. This is not for you and bears no relevance to your way of thinking.
With that brief rubbish aside, I speak now to the contemporary, under-25 thinker. I am tired of your relentless rantings about current issues of the day. I can't go 8 hours without some egotistic, feeble minded individual who thinks he is such a liberal free thinker because he can interject into every conversation with contemporary chatter. The presidential campaign in America has not an ounce to do with Australia. When we had our election last year I heard more media coverage of and more people musing about the Hillary/Obama dynamic than what was to be the future leaders of OUR country. And yet it continues.
Our media coverage sees that to comment on and to know of the American political climate and happenings is somehow to display great intellect and superiority in the public domain. Impressionable students pick this up of course, and run with it like a pedophile to a Wiggles concert. The daily social roundabout is peppered with who can make the most references to the most recent happenings of a country half the world away. Not to say that international events are irrelevant, before some imbecile tells me I'm ignorant of the global village. We are all aware of the internet and that communicable information is now almost instantaneous. Knowing such events does not show that you are somehow superior in your acquisition of information. We've all done research assignments, it's not that hard.
I am tired of your indecipherable bantering, displaying your knowledge of external events only demonstrates your ignorance of local matters. Begone with your international propriety and return with a concern for local matters.
